Innovation always exists | "Innovative Progression" Activity Review

"It was the best of time. It was the worst of time." This famous quote from Dickens was repeatedly mentioned. Since the development of the society, opportunities and challenges have moved parallelly. Innovative thinking is what allows us to seize the opportunities during the challenges.

On June 15th, Working Images and Vauman organized the "Innovative Progressive-Forward-looking Innovative Thinking" event. In a relaxed and pleasant environment, four Chinese and foreign innovation mentors talked with the guests, shared and interacted, and inspired.

Ahmet Tombul, the founder of Vauman Digital, shared his unique insights on the connection between innovative design and digital solutions. Ahmet gave a good example at the beginning and let everyone to immediately feel the importance of product design being "user friendly". Similarly, when designing a digital solution for a brand, in addition to focusing on form and function, it should also pay attention to the needs of all involved.

The most important thing is to consider the ease of use and user experience in every aspect of the design, and make a complete and systematic interaction between users and products. A good digital solution will bring competitive advantages and greater profits to business.

Amber, the strategic director of the brand experience design of Working images, shared with you how our life and work have been affected in the era of rapid development of technology, and in the post-4.0 era of the challenging Industrial Revolution, How to transform thinking, drive innovation from different angles.

Amber compared the "technology-based" and "human-centered" innovation routes, and based on past work experience, incisively analyzed the first principles of design: the ability to find problems, and refined more of the designers' "POST" working principle, which illustrates how design can be used as the driving force behind innovation. For facing the uncertainty of the future, Amber gave 4 most important traits that each of us should pursue: curiosity, insight, participation, determination. As long as the thinking and mentality are correct, innovation and design will continue.

Zhao Liuwei, Global Marketing Brand Manager from Tuntex. After obtaining a master's degree from Harvard University, she entered a well-known curtain wall company in the United States to engage in construction and marketing-related work. After returning to China, she joined Tuntex as the brand manager of global market. She shared how she met design, engaged in design, and thought about design. She has always been a case of how to practice innovation in traditional industries; how to convert from a product-based perspective to a human-based perspective at work; And how she thinks deeply about the three elements of human needs, business sustainability and technological realizability. Her innovative practice in traditional industries has inspired many partners who have similar work situations on site, giving everyone a very specific example of operation.

T.T. Yang is the founder of the art sharing brand "Weiyi quan". She is a senior marketing professional and has served as the top executive of China and Asia in many multinational marketing companies in the past. Because of personal love for art, she established the Weiyi quan. T.T. explained to us how the art and business are organically combined in innovative development with wonderful cases. An important aspect of contemporary art is to elicit a dialogue between people and things, and people and environment. People's participation cannot be a part of artistic expression from the outside. While innovating and creating, we must also think about human nature. Her simple explanation gave everyone a new level of understanding about the combination of art and innovation.

There was also a special surprise at the event. Our designer Fiona, a painter from the School of Visual Arts in New York, made live visual records for everyone on the spot. The key points of each speaker is summarized and translated into a visual image. The innovation shown is really "progressive"!

After sharing the wonderful speeches, a "Without words" workshop followed. Senior design thinking mentor Tori led everyone to learn "observation" and "listening" through hands-on practice.

These two things sound simple and easy, but when they are put into practice, many people find that they seem to have some technical difficulties.

Under the guidance of Tori, Joe and Iris, the workshop has been immersed in heated discussion and laughter. We didn't notice time flying by, and even some of our partners were too involved in the activity and only found out that they were about to miss their wedding anniversary dinner date.

Innovation is not a slogan,
Innovation is an attitude,
It needs to be done to truly understand.
We're innovating, we're doing it!
